Budgeting Decisions – What is CPD Training worth to your School?

It’s a tricky area – Budgets. Spending wisely will always be a difficult decision. As you consider how to spend your allocation for the coming year, spend some time reflecting on equipping your teaching staff with the right exam stress support.
After all, they’re the ones delivering your curriculum. If they’re confident in managing stress, then they’ll pass that on to the students too.
You want your whole Team to be with you in your school stress culture.
CPD shouldn’t just be for Teachers.
In my Exam Mindset Framework, I show you 3 strands of Thinking, Techniques and Teamwork that you will make the difference to how your School manages your students’ stress levels.
Making a decision on CPD isn’t just a tick box exercise. It’s knowing that you’re getting the widest benefit from your investment.
It’s giving your teachers tools to use every day in the classroom Sharing ideas with ALL your Team – support Staff and parents. It’s lifting moral and confidence.
And – as your staff begin to use the ideas shared, it’s showing students how to manage their feelings, to avoid anxiety and panic in the future.
All this gives you peace of mind.
A CPD Stress-Based Workshop shares ideas on handling fear and gives your staff practical ideas to use straight away.
Whilst CPD comes with resources, lesson plans and supporting materials, none of that matters unless your staff are able to understand what the ideas can do for them.
We’re all invested in ‘What’s in it for me’ – your teachers as much as you, as the decision maker.
We’ll talk about Triggers – what sets things off for the students, as well as your Teachers. When you share stress busting ideas like this, it’s not just your students who benefit.
As your Staff come to try the ideas, they too are learning how to handle their own stress levels. The exercises are transferrable.
Yes, it’s designed to teach staff ideas to use in the classroom – but they’ll be trying them out first and that means THEY get to see how they work for them. When they get their own personal results, they’re far more likely to spread them!
One of the Techniques I teach (if you choose to include it) is Tapping or EFT Emotional Freedom Technique.
Tapping is excellent at stripping back deep-seated problems – which often surface around exams.
What we see (in behaviour) is often just a symptom of the problem. Digging deep into the thinking behind the challenge is key.
- We go through how fear arises and why
- How to think better – and the science behind the fear
- We’ll cover many popular Mindful techniques around handling panic and fear and calming things down
And we’ll look at involving all your community – your wider staff and parents to create a stress-free culture.
But none of this can happen unless you review your stats and decide to bring in a fresh approach.
It all starts with a chat to see the bigger picture and you and your school deciding how best to support YOUR students to do their best for Summer 2026.
Yes, it’s a long way off but change needs to start now, to make sure your students’ new way of managing fear is their new default. All that takes time.
No use starting something in January…. It’s now that you need to think about change.
And that means thinking how this kind of training could fit into your INSET, CPD day, or twilight sessions - and how I can help you get there.
